Six of the officers will be given restitution in the form of pay, overtime, benefits and pension payments for all the time they missed since their reprimand, Police Comm. Charles Ramsey said. Sgt. Schiavone's demotion was also overturned.

Officers Patrick Whalen and Robert Donnelly were rookies at the time of the incident and will not automatically get their jobs back, according to Comm. Ramsey. They can reapply for the job, though. "I don't agree with the decision, but it is decision of the arbitrator and I respect that," Comm. Ramsey said.

A 2009 grand jury also found that the officers' actions did not warrant criminal charges. The three alleged suspects were also acquitted of charges related to the shooting.

Veteran NYPD Detective Hassan Hamdy shot unarmed 22 year old National Guardsman Noel Polanco dead simply because Polanco cut him off on the expressway. The Detective told the grand jury he feared for his life and the charges were dropped as always.

This tragedy is just one of many as NYPD cops continue to shoot unarmed citizens with the excuse they feared for their life. These killer cops may think they got away with murder but only when they meet their end and are facing eternity will they learn that no one escapes justice ... no one !

After members of the New York Police department arrested a teenager for “spewing profanities” and “ignoring requests to show his hands” outside a Queens youth center, a lawyer for the young man claims that he is an “innocent victim of police brutality”, the New York Daily News reports.

Robert Jackson was forced to the ground by police in a Jan. 8 incident outside the Flushing YMCA. In a press conference Tuesday, Jackson said that his arm was pinned underneath him during the arrest.

Photos released to the press show a gruesome, crescent-shaped wound that the 19-year-old sustained in the incident as his left cheek was ground into the cement sidewalk.

According to Gothamist, Jackson faces charges of “w**d possession, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration,” but his lawyer, City Council candidate Jacques Leandre wants them all dropped.
