Black Racial Profiling Brawl In Restaurant

After a brawl with the police, two brothers are charged with assaulting officers but they say they're the real victims and have the proof to prove it: the whole fight was caught on video.

It all started when 20-year-old Tywonn Mitchell and Naybon Moore, 26, were driving to Grandy’s Coney Island back in May. They say that’s when Detroit Police began profiling them, tailing their car.

The brothers pull into the restaurant and the police car backed away, so they thought everything was fine. But then the officers followed them into the Coney Island, and asked to see their IDs.

The brothers asked to know what they had done wrong, (as you can hear in the video), both of them aware of their rights. One is studying criminal justice and the other is studying law. That’s when one of the brothers flipped his hands, and it turned into a full-on brawl.

The brothers were taken into custody. Fast forward three months now, and they are charged with assault and battery on a police officer, obstruction of justice, and resisting arrest. But they claim, they are the real victims here. Detroit Police Department tells us, when the incident happened the officers admitted they used force and a command level investigation was conducted.

The officers say when they were investigating inside the Coney Island, one of the officers extended his hand and asked one of the brothers to step back, but he slapped the officers hand in return. At that point the police officer responded with force.

The use of force was deemed appropriate and reasonable after intensive review of the video and interviewing the brothers.

The French Are Pissed At Police Violence Against Black Woman (Teargas And Baton Beating)

French prosecutors have launched an investigation after a video showing a police officer beating a black woman with a baton and spraying tear gas directly into her face sparked outrage.

Interior Minister Manuel Valls said Tuesday that prosecutors in the central city of Tours had ordered the IGPN police internal affairs branch to investigate after the video, called “Shame on the French police”, was posted on the Internet on Sunday.

“An investigation has been opened. The matter has been referred to the IGPN,” Valls said.

“We need the whole truth and full transparency… The police must be irreproachable, the vast majority of police officers carry out difficult and remarkable work.”

Armed Guards For Black Moviegoers Attending Civil Rights Drama

"The new Civil Rights drama Lee Daniels' The Butler is a smash hit, but according to some Regal Cinemas patrons in Silver Spring, Maryland, the theater's security for the film was a colossal bomb. A Twitter user named Tiffany Flowers reported that patrons of the Silver Spring Regal Cinemas had their tickets to The Butler checked twice, and were greeted in the theater by armed policemen. Managers at the theater have been directed not to comment, referring media inquiries to a phone number that's unmanned on weekends, but Washington ABC affiliate WJLA will air a report on the story this evening."* The Young Turks hosts Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian break it down.

Is This 2013 or 1913??? Black Off-Duty Firefighter Manhandled And Threatened With Taser For Waving At White Police Officer

A black off-duty firefighter is making headlines with his story about being threatened with a taser and forced to the ground for waving at a white police officer who did not recognize him out of uniform.

An Evansville firefighter has filed a formal complaint against a police officer who stopped him during a bicycle ride Tuesday afternoon, threatened him with a stun gun and handcuffed him.

George Madison Jr., 38, who is also a youth pastor, said he feared for his safety during the stop, the Evansville Courier and Press reported .

According to the police department’s dispatch report , the officers stopped Madison after he “failed to stop on his bike” at an intersection and “raised his right arm (at officers) in an apparent aggravated manor (sic).”

Madison admitted that he was not going to stop at the intersection, but he said the officer startled him by making a sudden left turn in front of him.

“He did it real fast,” Madison told the Evansville newspaper. “I thought it was one of the guys (police) I knew.”

Madison said he has met many police officers through his job and participating in local police/fire events, so he raised his hand to wave at the officers.

But Madison said he did not know the officers who stopped him.

“The officer jumped out and says, ‘What are you doing throwing your hands up at us?’” Madison told the paper. “He is talking to me as he is coming toward me. I tried to explain, but I couldn’t get a word in edgewise.”

Madison said he knew Evansville Police Chief Billy Bolin from their community involvement, so he started to use his cellphone to call Bolin, hoping to diffuse the situation.

The officer told Madison to put the phone down then, according to the department’s report, “Madison refused to put his phone down and… postured up and pulled his arm back in an aggressive manor (sic).”

Reacting to the perceived aggression, the officer pulled out his stun gun, the report said.

“I remember looking down the barrel of a Taser, because (the officer) was gritting his teeth and saying, ‘Don’t make me pull this trigger,’” Madison said.

Madison said the officer asked him his name, date of birth and place of employment.

"Once they found out I was a fireman, their attitude changed," he said.

At that point the officers allowed him to come to his knees. He said the officer began trying to engage him in conversation, but Madison said he became wary of the conversation's turn.

"At first I was talking to them. Then I said, 'I don't have anything else to say to you,"' he said. "Finally, they asked me if I had calmed down, and I kept telling them I was never out of sorts."

Madison said the officer explained to him that, for all he knew, Madison could have been trying to call others to the scene. Madison said he tried to explain his perspective as a young, black male.

"It is experiences like these that people hold onto," Madison said. "I refuse to allow a bad experience that I have with one person or officer to change my perception. I just refuse to allow this experience to make me feel any different."

But Madison said he also believes he can't ignore what happened, and that the officers should be held accountable.

"I don't want this man to lose his job or weeks of pay, but I have to look at it from the standpoint of, I have a family to think about. I shouldn't feel bad for standing up for my own rights," he said. "The fact that I am a firefighter or preacher doesn't make a difference. All anybody wants is to be treated like a human being."

Bolin said Madison has met with the department's internal affairs division to file a formal complaint.

Officers will investigate the complaint and make a recommendation to him, Bolin said.

According to a statement released by the police department Wednesday, the investigation began that morning.

Bolin said Wednesday he had not spoken with the officers involved.

"I need to stay impartial until I hear both sides," Bolin said.

This is just CRAZY! Sounds like something straight out of a scene in the South pre-civil rights movement.

White Court Clerk Fired For Helping Free Wrongly Convicted Black Man “I Would Do It Again!”

Via HuffPo reports:

After working 34 years as a court clerk in Kansas City, Sharon Snyder was fired in June for giving Robert Nelson a public document that showed him how to properly seek DNA tests, a move that eventually led to his release from prison three decades after being wrongfully convicted of rape.

Despite being punished for helping Nelson, Snyder told MSNBC’s “All In With Chris Hayes” on Wednesday she would do it all over again.

“Oh yes, I would do it again,” Snyder said in her first national television interview with Nelson. “I am so happy that he got exonerated on this charge, and felt that would happen or he wouldn’t have filed that motion to start out with.”

Robert Nelson, 49, was convicted in 1984 of a Kansas City rape that he insisted he didn’t commit and sentenced to 50 years for forcible rape, five years for forcible sodomy and 15 years for first-degree robbery. The judge ordered the sentence to start after he finished serving time for robbery convictions in two unrelated cases prior to the rape conviction.

Those sentences ended in 2006.

After the second motion failed in late October 2011, Snyder gave Nelson’s sister, Sea Dunnell, a copy of a motion filed in a different case in which the judge sustained a DNA request.

The Kansas City Police Department’s crime lab concluded last month that DNA tests excluded Nelson as the source of evidence recovered from the 1983 rape scene and he was freed June 12.

Snyder, a 70-year-old great-grandmother, was suspended without pay five days after Nelson’s release. She was fired on June 27.

Snyder told Hayes she felt she was being “severely punished” and forced to retire earlier than she’d planned.

A judge who withholds a person’s right to DNA testing – not available at the time of trial – is the one who should be fired.

Warrantless NYPD Home Invasion causes man to Dropped Dead from Shock !!!

The NYPD broke into a Brooklyn man's home as he slept causing he and his family to away to arm thugs shinning high intensity flashlights in their faces while yelling at them to get out of bed.

Fearing for the safety of his family the sudden and abrupt stress of the early morning raid was too much for this father's heart to bear. He fell to the floor in cardiac arrest in front of his wife and children as 10 NYPD cops callously looked on. They left the man on the floor to die ... and die, he did !

Mayor Bloomberg's Lackeys offered the excuse that the man invited them in for morning tea as they respectful questioned his sons about a stolen cell phone even though the front door was clearly kicked in.

How much oppression, terror and murder will black people take from this racist police department before they unite in the name of self preservation? The NYPD is not here to help or protect black people or the poor, only to ticket, arrest and murder them.

Billionaire Mayor Bloomberg wants the Poor People Fingerprinted to enter their own Homes !

Michael Bloomberg whose net worth went from 5 billion to 27 billion while pretending to serve as mayor of New York City now wants poor project residents to be fingerprinted in order to enter their own homes.

Since he couldn't have his way with his unconstitutional stop and frisk policy and data collection of innocent people, he has a hatched a new scheme to gather the information of black people and the poor so he can do away with them.

This ruthless tyrant will stop at nothing to make life a living hell for citizens who are not rich or helping to carry out his agenda.

Mayor Bloomberg who was worth 5 billion dollars when he became mayor in 2002 is now worth 27 billion dollars in 2013 while claiming to be working for a dollar a year as mayor. Bloomberg has since waged unrelenting war on black people and the poor with his illegal Stop and Frisk policy that targets blacks above all to be searched at will by racist cops with quotas that are rewarded by writing tickets and making arrest.

Since a federal judge ruled that his Stop and Frisk policy is unconstitutional the mayor and the NYPD have been conducting raids in minority neighborhoods hoping to find guns and drugs to call a news conference to justify their rights violations which has already cost one man his life in warrantless home invasion.

Former governor David Patterson signed into law that the NYPD can not keep the information of the innocent people the NYPD stops and frisk so Mayor Bloomberg now wants the poor fingerprinted allegedly "for their safety."

Is there no end to the insane schemes this wicked mad man will hatch to impoverish and subjugate citizen so he can rule with an iron fist ? Bloomberg deploys his self proclaimed "private army"...aka the NYPD along with hordes of agents to eliminate anyone who opposes his will ?

Michael Bloomberg in my opinion is one of the wickedest creatures ever to walk the face of the earth and is a threat to freedom and liberty everywhere.

Another Black Man Found Hanging from a Tree in Jersey City, New Jersey

http://www.techyville.com/2013/08/news/black-man-found-hanging-from-a-tree-in-jersey-city-new-jersey/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=black-man-found-hanging-from-a-tree-in-jersey-city-new-jersey

Jersey City, N.J. – A disturbing report is being circulated among various news outlets that a Black man was found hanging from a tree in a Jersey City, New Jersey park.

The lifeless body of the unidentified man, who appeared to be in his 60’s, was found in Lafayette Park on the morning of August 6, 2013.  NJ.com reports that a woman “who was walking on Manning Avenue near Lafayette Street just outside the park,” saw the man and immediately reported the incident to police officials.

Gene Rubino, who is the spokesman for the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, said that the man was taken to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.  He also told NJ.com “that foul play is not suspected and that there were no visible signs of trauma or assault.”

A woman who identifies herself as Nurse Tonya tells a different story.  In the comment section posted on NJ.com, she writes, “I was there alone, in my truck, taking my two toddlers to the park to meet their daycare, and then on my way to work. I take the cobble stone road as a short cut and as I looked beyond the trees to see where the class was, I was curious why the park was COMPLETELY empty. I lowered my eyes as I was slowing down to see a man “Kneeling” yet hung from a tree.”

She then wrote that she called 911 but never got out of her car as she had her two children.  She also wrote that what she saw didn’t appear to be suicide because his hands were tied behind his back.  She wrote, “I saw the truth!  I have two baby boys and am DEVASTATED that I have had to explain to toddlers why they saw a man hanging from a tree. Get the 911 tape and set the truth straight! I am mortified, insulted, and saddened but I will not be silent no [sic] that I feel there is inaccuracy.”

We tried reaching out to the Jersey City police media department, but our calls went unanswered.

For now, Lafayette Park remains closed as Police investigate this heinous incident.

Judge Rules NYPD "Stop and Frisk" Unconstitutional, Cites "Indirect Racial Profiling"

In a historic ruling, a federal court has ruled the controversial "stop-and-frisk" tactics used by New York City Police officers are unconstitutional. In a harshly critical decision, U.S. District Court Judge Shira Scheindlin said police had relied on what she called a "policy of indirect racial profiling" that led officers to routinely stop "blacks and Hispanics who would not have been stopped if they were white." Since 2002, the police department has conducted more than five million stop and frisks. According to the police department's own reports, nearly nine out of 10 New Yorkers stopped and frisked have been innocent. In her almost 200-page order Judge Shira Scheindlin wrote, "No one should live in fear of being stopped whenever he leaves his home to go about the activities of daily life ... Targeting young black and Hispanic men for stops based on the alleged criminal conduct of other young black or Hispanic men violates the bedrock principles of equality." She also appointed a federal monitor to oversee reforms, with input from community members as well as police. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg reacted angrily to to the ruling, and accused the judge of denying the city a fair trial. We're joined by Sunita Patel, a staff attorney with the Center for Constitutional Rights, and co-counsel on the case. "This is a victory for so many hundreds of thousands of people who have been illegally stopped and frisked over the last decade," Patel says.

Fox News: Black People NEED Stop And Frisk

On Tuesday, Laura Ingraham, a conservative radio host and Fox News contributor, lambasted Judge Shira A. Scheindlin for her ruling last week that New York City's controversial "Stop-and-Frisk" policy must be halted. Ingraham and the hosts of Fox & Friends said that this judge's "utopian" worldview would change if she lived in a high-crime area of New York City.

Ingraham began by warning that the ruling ensures that police are less thorough in their policing and will be "demonized" in the community. She added that the ruling is yet another reason why Republican presidential candidates need to talk about how important courts are, as Scheindlin was a justice appointed by former President Bill Clinton.

Gretchen Carlson noted that the people who live in the high-crime areas where police are primarily employing "Stop-and-Frisk" are supportive of the policy.*

"Prosecutors on Tuesday charged the owner of a Rottweiler that was fatally shot by Hawthorne police with a half-dozen felony counts for allegedly threatening a witness who recorded the incident.

Leon Cordell Rosby, 52, faces two counts each of felony dissuading a witness from prosecuting a crime, intimidating a witness and making criminal threats and one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest, the Los Angeles County district attorney's office said."* The Young Turks hosts Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian break it down.

Omaha Police Brutality Videos Exposed 2013

Omaha police officer punching a restrained man has led to an internal police investigation, Police Chief Todd Schmaderer said Saturday.

"I will get to the bottom of this," Schmaderer said at a news conference. "There is an internal investigation in full swing and the investigation will be conducted thoroughly, fairly, and as swiftly as possible, because the citizens of Omaha and the men and women of the Omaha Police Department deserve a fair resolution."

The incident began Thursday, when officers responded to a parking complaint in a north Omaha neighborhood, police spokeswoman Lt. Darci Tierney said. Officers were preparing to have some vehicles towed for expired tags when they say 28-year-old Octavius Johnson pulled up and approached officers in an aggressive manner.

But video secretly taken by a neighbor shows an officer grabbing Johnson, who did not appear combative, from behind and throwing him to the ground. Later, the officer is seen punching Johnson in the face several times while Johnson is prone on the ground.
Schmaderer did not take questions following his remarks Saturday, saying he's barred by the police union contract from discussing specifics of personnel investigations.

The punches occurred after other officers left the scene to chase Johnson's younger brother, Juaquez Johnson, into his mother's house. The younger Johnson had been recording his brother's arrest on his cellphone. He and his family say police chased him because he refused police orders to stop recording. The family says police arrested Juaquez Johnson and confiscated his cellphone.

A neighbor posted a recording of the incident online.

Another brother, Demetrius Johnson, was also arrested on an outstanding warrant, The Omaha World-Herald reported.

The men's aunt, Sharon Johnson, said an officer chasing Juaquez Johnson ran into her, knocking her out of her wheelchair.

Texas Troopers Perform Roadside Cavity Search on Brandy Hamilton & Alexandria Randle

Dash video shows two women in bikinis being subjected to body cavity searches on the side of a Texas highway after they were stopped returning from a weekend at the beach.

Brandy Hamilton, 26, and Alexandria Randle, 24, are suing the Texas Department of Public Safety and the sheriff of Brazoria County, Texas, where the stop occurred. Their lawyer alleges that the search was meant to humiliate them and was conducted without probable cause.

The female officer who performed the invasive search, which included sticking a finger in the women's vaginas, is accused of using the same pair of gloves to search both women. The entire 40-minute traffic stop was caught on the trooper's dashboard camera.

Attorney Allie R. Booker told MailOnline her client's case is startling similar to a July 2012 case in Dallas in which DPS trooper Kelly Helleson aggressively searched Angel Dobbs and her niece, Ashley Dobbs - including giving them a body cavity search and not changing gloves between searching the two women.
Trooper Turner has been suspended as part of an internal investigation by the Department of Public Safety

He then makes the two women sand on the side of a busy highway in their swimsuits while he calls for backup.

'One of them has got her zipper open on her pants of her daisy dukes shorts - whatever they are,' the trooper says on the radio.

Two more troopers show up - including Jennie Bui.

Bui, as trooper Turner explains, 'is going to search you.'

'I ain't, because I ain't about to get up-close and personal with your woman areas...she is going to put some gloves on,' he says.

Despite numerous pleas from the two women not to perform a body cavity search, But ignores them.

Both women can be seen with pained looks on their faces as the trooper probes their genitals.

NEW Antonio Santiago Case Death Points To Parents, Not Two Black Teens

Two African American teenagers, De'Marquise Elkins, 17, and Dominique Lang, 15, were arrested for allegedly walking up to a white woman with her baby in a stroller and attempting to rob her. The mother, Sherry West, was shot and her 10-month-old son, Antonio Santiago, was shot and killed.

That was the story when they were arraigned on March 25, but new evidence has surfaced that questions the validity of all of the events reported. The parents, Sherry West and Louis Santiago, both tested positive for gunshot residue on their hands after the crime was committed. This tidbit has been kept under wraps until now. According to Addicting Info, the defense attorney for the boys had to demand this information, that has been withheld for months, be released.

Antonio Santiago was fatally shot between the eyes in March 21, but now it is not certain who is behind the crime now that this new evidence is being introduced. Sherry West's daughter immediately came forward questioning her mother's story.

Ashley Glassey, 21, said she was taken from her mother when she was eight because of her mother's mental issues that led to her abuse. She also told reporters that her mother had asked how soon she think she would receive an insurance check from her son's death. West also mentioned in the initial story that her son was stabbed to death in New Jersey five years ago. (Investigators may want to take a look at that case as well.

Harsh US Drug Laws To Change, Says Eric Holder

"With the U.S. facing massive overcrowding in its prisons, Attorney General Eric Holder called Monday for major changes to the nation's criminal justice system that would scale back the use of harsh sentences for certain drug-related crimes. Shaaliver Douse: 14-Year-Old Bronx Teen Shot Dead By Police

Shaaliver Douse (pictured), a 14-year-old who allegedly fired at an unidentified target, was shot dead by police after he ignored commands to drop his weapon, according to the NY Daily News.

The incident happened early Sunday morning in the Bronx’s Melrose section. Two “rookie” officers on patrol heard gunfire and found a man reportedly running from Douse as Douse allegedly shot at him. After allegedly ignoring repeated requests to drop his weapon and freeze, one of the officers fired a shot at Douse, which reportedly hit his lower jaw and killed him.
Security camera footage shows a teenager bolting upon seeing Douse outside a deli, who immediately gives chase.

Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly deemed the shooting justified at a Sunday evening press conference, saying the officers prevented Douse from killing his target. “These officers stopped that from happening,” he said. “I don’t see what the officers could have done any differently.”
Kelly claims the department hasn’t confirmed who he shot at exactly. “It is undetermined at this time whether he fired at the officer or the unknown male.”

Officials collected Douse’s weapon — a Black Astra 9mm pistol — at the scene (pictured above). Kelly revealed the gun was made in Spain but is unsure how Douse got his hands on it.
“We don’t know the history of this gun. It will take us a while, but we will get a history on it,”  he added.
Speaking at another press conference last week, N.Y.C. Mayor Michael Bloomberg noted that most guns used illegally in New York come from other states.
“Now 90 percent of guns used in crimes here came from out-of-state, and that means — in addition to our tough enforcement efforts inside the five boroughs — we have to pay attention to gun laws outside of the city,” he said. ”The reality is laws in states across the nation and in Washington, D.C., have a real impact on the safety of New Yorkers.”
Douse’s aunt disagreed with Kelly justifying the shooting.
“That’s was my sister’s only baby,” Quwana Barcene said. “I’m tired of the police getting away with murder.”
Trayvon Martin is never going to end. Sean Bell happened to my nephew. This rookie cop — please bring him up on charges as a murderer.”
On Monday afternoon, Douse’s mother,Shanise Farrarspoke out about her son’s murder, saying officers initially told her no gun was found at the scene but then changed their story later on, “I’m not saying he’s the best, “But he’s my angel. “I wouldn’t want this to happen to nobody’s kid,”
Douse, a freshman at the Alfred E. Smith Career And Technical Education High School, had an extended criminal history. He’d been scheduled to show up in Bronx Supreme Court August 23rd to face felony charges for possessing a loaded weapon during an arrest in October 2012.
According to police, he shot a 15-year-old boy in his left shoulder May 16th, a mile and a half from where he met his end Sunday. The victim survived the attack. Douse was arrested a week later and charged with attempted murder, assault, menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon.
However, the charges from the latter case were dropped.
“There was insufficient evidence,” said Steven Reed, a spokesman for Bronx District AttorneyRobert Johnson. “The complaining witness could not make an identification.”
Kelly said that the case is still under investigation and police are trying to identify and locate the person Douse allegedly shot at.

Why People Should Be Outraged at Zimmerman's 'Not Guilty' Verdict

"George Zimmerman, the Florida 'neighborhood watch' volunteer armed with a gun, has been acquitted of charges of second-degree murder and manslaughter in the shooting death of unarmed African American teenager, Trayvon Martin.

This verdict is at once so shocking and so expected to me that without a doubt it exposes the lie at the heart of the American 'criminal justice' system. We do not have, especially where African Americans are concerned, a "justice" system. It is often an injustice system that results in unequal treatment."*

George Zimmerman was found "not guilty" of all charges in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. But is this right? Is this justice? There were many, many times after the moment of Martin's death that were not handled properly, and now we as a people must deal with the implications the "not guilty" verdict sets forth. Cenk Uygur details and breaks down where the case went wrong.

Florida Police Shoot Unarmed Black Man In His Front Yard

"This weekend, deputies from Escambia County, Florida shot an unarmed man who went to grab cigarettes from the car parked in the driveway of his mother's home. A neighbor called police at 2 a.m. because he suspected 60-year-old Roy Middleton was stealing the car. Things quickly escalated when two deputies arrived and ordered Middleton to "get your hands where I can see them."*

60-year old Roy Middleton was shot by police officers "like a firing squad" after he went to get cigarettes from his mother's car from the driveway of their home. Then, police officers were called to the scene and shot the unarmed man as he was complying with their orders. This all comes fresh after the controversial Trayvon Martin/ George Zimmerman verdict. LAPD Launches New Program Allowing Alleged Racial Profiling Victims To Confront Arresting Officers And Discuss Incident

via News One

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is launching a program that would bring officers face to face with civilians who have accused them of racial profiling, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The program called “Community-Employee Mediation Pilot Program” will run about three years and would allow the officer accused of racial profiling and the racially profiled victim the opportunity to discuss the encounter where the alleged incident occurred.

Those who are interested in the meetings would attend only on a voluntary basis. The parties involved will have an impartial and trained mediator, a volunteer that would be provided by the City Attorney’s office

The current program’s mediation sessions will take place in cases that do not involve allegations of physical assault, racially bias, verbal insults, or more serious charges.

If an LAPD officer agrees to participate in the program in good faith, then the department’s investigation in to the accusations against them will be closed.

Officers with two prior complaints in the previous year are ineligible.
According to the L.A. Times, a director from the police officer’s union reportedly told the police commission Tuesday that the union supported the mediation plan and has urged officers to take part in the program.

As Dice Raw puts it, they represent the “truth” behind the album’s message. In the documentary, rappers such as Philadelphia’s rising star and ex-offender K-Dot talk about living in “cells the size of bathrooms” where they were left to their own insanity, only to be returned to another sort of insanity once released back into the streets.

“I grew up in Philadelphia — Philadelphia is not a soft city, you know what I mean? It has a criminal element to it, and poor sections. That’s basically what it comes down to is low economic background, low education… the War on Drugs is a War on Thugs,” says Dice Raw on the tragic state of affairs for Black men in his home city of Philadelphia alone.

“Black people have been fighting for the freedoms and privileges enjoyed by people of ALL colors since Crispus Attucks, without fair or equal representation. Law and order are now code words for ‘get them ni**as.’ Churches, temples, synagogues, the media, police, gun shops, law firms and more will win off of recent things like the Trayvon Martin decision. Don’t believe me — just watch! We released ‘Jimmy’s Back’ as an informative call-to-action to our brothers, sisters and allies in the struggle.”

The footage in the documentary was shot in Philadelphia, and some scenes were excerpted from the “Pull of Gravity” documentary by filmmaker Jon Kaufman.

Federal Lawsuit Claims D.C. Police Officers Purposely Target And Run Over Black Motorcyclists To Confiscate Illegal Bikes

via U.S. News

District of Columbia police have inappropriately targeted young, black motorcyclists by hitting them with their squad cars to confiscate illegal bikes, according to a class action suit filed in federal court on Friday.

Dirt bikes and all-terrain vehicles are illegal to ride or operate in D.C., but can be purchased in a number of D.C. metropolitan area stores.

The eight plaintiffs in the D.C. suit are led by Terry Thedale Cain, a black D.C. resident who says that police officers followed him on his bike in July 2012 before physically clipping his leg with a cruiser.

“It was clear the police intended to hit me while I was on my bike,” Cain writes in a declaration to the court, and alleges that an officer physically assaulted him after he got off the bike.

The complaint also alleges that police department supervisors are aware of and condone the practice.

MPD told U.S. News it would not comment on pending litigation.

“This is an extreme cat and mouse game that’s been going on for years,” says David Shurtz, the Arlington, Va.-based attorney on the suit. “If they are wholesale targeting, as a police department, young black males in a poor section of town with deadly force – that is racial profiling.”
