NYC council members express solidarity with anti-racism protests

Protests continue throughout New York City, in response to the killing of Eric Garner, who was strangled to death by police officers. Police have used Pepper spray, and over three hundred protesters have been arrested.

Before proceedings began at City Hall, a number of council members symbolically blocked traffic, showing support for the protests. After blocking traffic, the council members proceeded into city hall, joined by clergy and anti-racist activists.
